The First Street Studio Team would like to give a huge THANK YOU to every single artist, teacher, creator, filmmaker, dancer, actor, martial artist, and so many more who continue to support and keep First Street Studio ALIVE! FSS Owners (AJ & Dorothy) are so overwhelmed with the love and support from you to keep this sacred space open.
The possibility of expanding into our future vision is pushed out a bit, but we are working diligently to get there! We will remain a SINGLE-STUDIO (+ POCKET STUDIO!) space for a temporary time while we search for a better (& larger!) space to suit our two-studio / performance space vision. More info below!

HOW TO GET HERE:
Address: 701 Tillery Street
Enter the driveway alongside Abe’s Smoke Shop.
Drive all the way to the back and to the right.
Double glass doors near the bike rack (to to the right of CreateScape). Door code provided in email to the teacher/renter.
Walk straight, turn right at the T, go all the way to the end, make a left. Studio door is on the left. Door code provided in email to the teacher/renter.

Future Plans (Long Term Vision):
The long term vision of First Street Studio remains: growth & expansion!
We are looking at spaces to expand into multiple studios, so we can host multiple classes, rehearsals, etc. at the same time.
We are looking to expand the studio to include a larger space to be able to convert it to a black box theater with more seating for events and performances. Given the massive theater shortage in Austin, this is paramount in our mission to provide opportunity and accessibility to Austin creatives.
Timing - current plan is to expand into a new space in approximately 2-3 years (2024-2026 is the plan)
Looking for ideas! We also love to collaborate with our neighbors on events, so neighboring businesses are important to us too. As such, the partners of First Street Studio are looking into potential rental and/or investment options. The ideal space is a big warehouse space to share … maybe with a brewery (think… Ballet & Brews!). The dream scenario also includes expansion into multiple studios to expand into a more robust performing arts space to serve other artistic genres (e.g. animation, digital art, motion capture, etc.) and also community initiatives (e.g. classes for underserved communities, outreach performances, etc.).

A: The new location will be at 701 Tillery Street. Entrance from Tillery Street, drive to the back parking lot. Enter the door from the back lot. We will provide signage and door codes when we open the space to the public.
